Job Title: Identity and Access Management (IAM) Security Officer

Job Summary:

An IAM Security Officer is responsible for managing and securing user identities, access privileges, and authentication processes within an organization. They ensure that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive data, applications, and systems, reducing the risk of cyber threats and unauthorized breaches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to secure user access.
• Manage user provisioning and de-provisioning processes for employees, vendors, and partners.
• Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) solutions.
• Monitor and analyze access logs and security incidents for anomalies or suspicious activities.
• Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to improve IAM architecture and security posture.
• Respond to and investigate IAM-related security incidents and provide remediation strategies.
• Provide training and awareness on best IAM practices to employees.
• Assist in cloud IAM security, securing access to SaaS applications (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Workspace, etc.).

Skills & Qualifications:

• Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Certifications (Preferred):
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• Strong knowledge of IAM frameworks, including RBAC, ABAC, and Zero Trust Security.
• Experience with IAM tools and technologies (Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, CyberArk, Ping Identity, IBM Security Verify, etc.).
• Familiarity with OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, and other authentication protocols.
• Understanding of cloud security and IAM best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment:

• Office-based, with potential remote/hybrid options.
• Work may involve collaboration with IT, cybersecurity, and compliance teams.
• Some roles may require on-call availability for security incident response.

Salary Range:

• Entry-Level: $60,000 – $80,000 per year
• Mid-Level: $80,000 – $110,000 per year
• Senior Level: $110,000 – $150,000+ per year (varies based on location and organization)
